Review on Standard Chartered Spree Card

I recently reapplied for SCB Spree card and have since received it. I have cancelled it previously due to the cashback nerf. The rebate last time was much higher, I think around 6% for online. Many assume, Amex Truecashback and UOB Absolute are giving the highest cash rebate of 1.5-1.7% for no minimum spending, but actually the least well know Spree card is better.

It gives a 2% cash back for contactless, online and mobile payment with no minimum spend. This basically means almost every payment you can make qualifies. Despite its recent nerf by capping the cashback from $60 to $30 per month, its still useful. This means the maximum spending cap is now $1,500 every month.

I have hit my Grab wallet spending limit of $30k, so this card can act as an alternative for non petro/grocery/dinning spending, because it has no min spending requirement and quite hassle free.

Do note base on what I read on the TnC, manually paying utility bills like SP and telco via the app qualifies you for the 2% as long as its non recurring. When you are outside and paying for things, use the contactless payment to qualify for the 2%. See how it goes.
