My savings account strategy remained similar
BOC Smartsaver: 1.45%pa for $80k(hurdle account). Topping up Grab using BOC Great Wall Debit is counted as credit card spending. You can transfer the amount back to your BOC Smartsaver after.
Singlife: 2%pa for $10k. You can top up $500 to Grab using Singlife debit card and transfer back to qualify for the additional 0.5% pa.
Dash EasyEarn: 2%pa for $20k
Dash PET: 1.7%pa for $30k
Great270: 2.72% for 20k. 5 years maturity, starting 8th May 2018 matures on 8th May 2023. This works out to be a monthly interest of $45.33
I only exchange Capitastar vouchers now from Grab rewards because I am currently Plant rank on SP green up app. Which means I can buy Capitastar e vouchers at 30% discount. Stackable if Grab has the 20-30% Grab erewards rebate promotion. Which means I can get Capitastar vouchers at 50-60% cheaper than default.
Discovered new ways to get higher interest from BOC Smartsaver by using the Great Wall Debit card to top up $1500 to Grab and then use the transfer function to transfer back. Singlife debit card also works the same way so that I can get 2% pa for my 10k park there.
Spent on two big ticket items this month:
I bought a brand new gold iPhone 12 pro max. My old Iphone 6S plus has fully depreciated, used for more than 6 years already. The battery drains extremely fast and the charging port is no more responsive. Bought the 512 GB one on Carousell at $1850. Pretty good deal as the phone is brand new and the official price directly from Apple cost around $2300. Its super necessary for my job.
I bought a Prism+ Q75 4k Android TV during Lazada flash sale. My 10 years old Samsung 40 inch smart TV has faulty speakers and dead line pixels. I paid S$1594 after vouchers/discount, it comes with a free swivel mount. Also I spend this amount in conjunction with a Grab power up challenge that gave me 20k more free Grab points.
